Re: how to centre rear axle on lowered 16v 33
Just a quick question on handling, didn’t want to start a new thread as it’s related, so here goes.
I have Eibach 16v springs all round and powerflex bushes all round, I have Koni sport shocks, shortened and made top adjustable by Koni, in the rear.
I have standard shocks at the front as my struts from my ser 2 33 with Koni sport top adjustable shocks re-valved for the 16v weight and shortened, didn’t like my 16v springs, I’ve not got round to making coilovers / solid top mounts with adjustable camber yet "long story"
As my front has standard shocks it is soft, my front top mounts have seen better days as well, to compensate I have turned up the rear shocks to hard, to get a better turn in and less body roll.
After all this talk about the rear panhard rod "sway bar" I tried wiggling the steering wheel left to right slightly and it feels like the rear is swaying, is this my imagination, is this caused by the front being soft, bad top mounts, has the panhard rod mounts come away from the bodywork? I don’t have a problem with normal fast cornering, the car gets used once or twice a week and I haven’t had a chance to have a look underneath.
What do you think, will I find a loose panhard rod if I get a chance to look, it has only just had its MOT and I couldn’t see anything obvious.
