Get a Volt meter or 12V test lamp, find the connections on the starter motor, check that the big one has the same voltage to it as at the positive terminal on the battery, if thats ok you need to check the small terminal, have an assistant twist the ignition key to the crank position and see if you are getting power to the terminal, if both ok suspect the starter, use a jump lead from the negative terminal on the battery to the engine to make sure its not a bad earth though.
If no power to the small terminal on the starter you need to check the start signal at the ignition switch, remove the column trim and check for a crank signal at the switch plug, if you are getting a signal there then you have a wiring fault, if no signal then replace the witch.
