Re: Sud advice please
That's one rare beast - my first sud was a yellow 5M with original 1198cc single carb engine - not the fastest but loads of fun. Those mark 1 suds were not well built and having foam injected into the structure at build seemed like they intended them to be biodegradable from the outset! Given the appraent condition of your's it would be good to see an original spec engine back in place even if it has about half the power, might add to the value, and you might clear up at national alfa day concours with such a rarity.
Hi Bluesuit, yes that foam is a riot !! am sure I remember it in my QV ??
Unfortunately I lost the original engine after I took it out. Yes, putting back to original spec would be the right thing to do. I think that once the body is sorted I'll initially run it with something 100 bhp ish, but with a view to looking for an original lump in the future. That back end pic does make it look a good condition one, but it does have its bad areas of course. Having said that, the positives just keep being found as I continue to look it over. Four doors that are all good, very good front valance. I hope to have cleared the area around the front in a couple of days, so will be able to post the pics of the bad bits. Chhers for the reply.
