Re: Alfasud photo thread!
Haha, the battery is now in the boot. I was going to use the spare space for the ECU, but it isn't totally weather proof.
All the mechanical were upgraded over the last couple of years. The major change was to swap the original 1.5 for a fully race prepared, and tested 1.6. Then used a Haltec fully programable EFI ECU, together with the old 40idf carbs as throttle bodies, welded up manifold to accept the injectors and various other things to get the car to the state it's in at the moment. The huge oil breather catch tank was part of this upgrade (I don't know why, I just went for a big one!). The bars were also fitted at this time, and are modified 16v units. Luckily there were never any cracks, but now with motor, it might of been a problem.
Last dyno run saw around (these things are never conclusive) 100kw at the wheels, with quite good drivability, but still fairly poor economy which is something I'm working on.
Yes one-day I would like to take the beast out onto the track, but being a uni student is making this a bit hard. I just get my kicks blasting through the Adelaide Hills on weekends, blowing the Rexs, Nissans etc away!
