Re: took the sud for mot
Sprint ones are easy to modify and fit. On my sud they fit between the wheel arch outer trim and the front wing. I have used mudflap clamps to secure them at the bottom inner wing to save drilling. It is easier with two people.
And well worth it!
I have been trying find some donors cars to modify for the rear arches.
On Tims Alfasud pages someone suggests they have used Opel Kadett type D, which on checking is an Astra Mk2 so they are as rare in scrapyards as Suds.
When you ring a scrapyard to ask if they have any for hatchbacks, they say that they don't keep them because they are so cheap to buy new.
But I can hardly ring a dealer and order randomly in the hope that they will fit when they arrive.
I have started getting funny looks in car parks as I start to look under cars rear arches!
The Rover 25 looks interesting though especially as the fuel filler is on the same side as the Sud
