Thanks guys - He will be editing the pics over Christmas and so I will have to wait to find out.
Anyway the other good news is that after the fourth drive past I was starting to press on and the 6C was cornering really well - nice and flat with good grip front and rear.

Merry Christmas to all those viewers of this thread

I have e mailed the photographer and he will be sending me some pics . I will post up on here when I get them.
As the Sprint is now next to Bedford Autodrome I am thinking of trying it out on one of their track days in 2014.

Still no pictures, but even if I get them, I cannot post them up until the magazine article appears - if it does....
However - there are nearly 100,000 views of this thread - who will get the magic number?

I decided to get the 6C MoT'd again - and it got to the first MoT station and then wouldn't restart. so test aborted - and it then fired up.
Took it to another station and it got too hot at the end of the test and lost water. I got it home - and found a split in a steel water pipe. Fixed that and now it turns over but will not start! Oh it failed the MoT because the fog light didn't work......

The guys I use for all our MOT'S (Mr Tyre @ mansfield) would've at least put me a bulb in if that is all it was. For a franchise, they're brill, been using 'em for years for both Alfas and our kids Fiats. They let me under the ramp to see how things are ageing, what, if anything needs doing and the MOT testor even has a crafty fag with us whilst doing our test. If owt daft needs doing...bulb out, headlights out of alignment,he'll do it for us or lend the tools and we have some great banter too as AFH1 use them too, being just down the road. What I call a 'sensible' tester... ;-)

Likewise…

I know a couple of testers who although want you to be safe will be reasonable and helpful.

On one car I tried to fix something 3 times and cocked it up :roll eyes: , eventually he gave up failing it and fixed it himself. We both smiled and moved on.

Thanks for the comments - The MoT stations were both helpful and did their best - so I needed to do the extra jobs but..........

Wooo HOOO I've got an MoT for the 6C!
This morning I removed the "thermoacoustic barrier" and the lower bulkhead in front of the engine and checked out the two relays that lurk there - there was a blown fuse which I replaced and the car still did not fire - then I took out a relay and put it back in - and it fired up! Put it all together, checking that it fired as each piece went back in....it still worked..... So a quick call to the MoT station and they could do the retest - "now".
The lights worked - it didn't leak too much and it has passed so I have now returned it to the big hanger where I work.
Big Relief!

Well done! Nice one.

Arn't relays annoying . Would pretty much have a loom made from large wires. At least that way you can sort electrical problems.

Thanks Edward and Lauren
My next job will be to get the radiator repaired as it leaks significantly. I think most of these problems are my own fault. With so much hastle over cooling I had just been topping up with water. When I stored the car in the hanger over the winter I didn't think it would get too cold and most of the water had drained out, but I suspect it did freeze where there was trapped water - leading to more problems this year....Dohhh

The 6C is now taxed, tested and MoTd so I am planning to go to the Retro Show at Santa Pod tomorrow and be on the Retro Rides display (area 19 at the top of the pits near the finish line) and then on Sunday get to our local "Italian Car Show" at the Sharnbrook Hotel (on the A6 8 miles North of Bedford).

I know it's late in commenting but I did marvel at your creation. How hot does it get in there?? Or have I got the wrong car?

Well the thermoacoustic barrier does a good job when the car is moving and having an opening sunroof also helps - if it does get stuck in standing traffic though there is a fair amount of cabin heat.......

I have been getting the 6C out of its winter hibernation but the clutch slave cylinder has decided to leak fluid and not produce any release pressure - so I will have to get that changed.......

Well the clutch slave cylinder was replaced, and the radiator has been re-cored, so I took the 6C for it's MoT .....and it has passed!
But there is now a leak from the expansion tank so a replacement has been sourced and the 6C will be out and about in 2016. (A house move somewhat curtailed car stuff in 2015!)

Thanks (- belatedly) Alfa302 - how is your "big" Sud doing? Will you be doing any shows /RWYB in 2016?
