That's fantastic news Philip, well done

It's been an amazing ride you've taken us on, and I for one have been humbled by your achievements in such a (relatively) short time. How far is Stanford Hall from you? I think you will have plenty of back-up on the way from fellow Sudsters, and hopefully your first proper drive in the 6C will be everything you expect it to be!

Congratulations. I am guessing that this is unique, the only road legal , taxed and usable 6c. Quite an accomplishment!!

It seems a long time ago - nearly two and a half years, that I started this thread with the statement of intent to build a 6C.
To build it "on-line" was also a first for me - but - with, the support of Many Many posters, the problems have slowly been overcome and a version of an iconic Sprint has come to life.
So to all out in Cyber space on the AO forum, around the world a huge "THANK YOU". I hope to meet some of you at a show in the future and hope that you will enjoy seeing and hearing my 6C "in the metal".
I have insurance and will tax it from June 1st - so Stanford Hall will be it's first outing
an mot passed now, does it finally feel like the end is in sight, or arrived?

that was the last step that suddenly changed my outlook on the sud getting done, you are there now so a big well done

the car looks fantastic, can't wait to see (and hear) it in the flesh, now you have confirmed your appearance at stanford hall then i will do all i can to be there, see you there

p.s., is the race over now i won i think, by about a year, give or take

well done though

This is absolutely FANTASTIC news Philip !

I am sooooo happy for you

I'm sure you drove it around here and there for the MOT test. What does it feel like ?

Front suspension feels ok ?
Water temp issues ?
Any leaks or loose ends ?

Ex 3 Sprints

Thanks again for all the positive comments - no video yet as we are off on holiday for a week so literally back home - sleep - Stanford Hall. But the car feels great, needs setting up as it is quite skittish - very light on the steering but very precise.
No water leaks but still an airlock in the system - hopefully now sorted.
Brakes pull up nice and evenly, virtually no roll at front or back end but copes well over road undulations - not been out on any smooth roads yet! must carry on packing!
Bye for now

What a relief ! i was beginng to feel like an expectant father.
So its Champers all round at Stanford Hall.? On Alfa G.B perhaps.
Lauren .I hope there will also be a few 164s in support.Mine included .A well preserved two toned red 3 litre Auto.
Sadly our numbers are dwindling rapidly by the V6 engine being taken from roadwothy 164s for projects such as this one .I have just taken a load of 164 spares from a chap putting the V6 into a Ford Transit Van.with supercharger.
Hope you get a chance to share that Test Drive of the 6c.
Glad Sixnut has got his priorities right and taking Er in Doors for a holiday ,She has been a Saint
Methinks there is still much to do to get the Dash working ,so Old Alf is not quite done yet.

this is epic! checking this topic for updates has been a daily routine for me for the past two years or so and a true inspirational whenever my own sprint project wasn't going the way I'd like it every so many times.

It's become great, congratulations! I really hope we'll be able to see it in the flesh one day, wouldn't you care about visiting the netherlands?! Or I'll have to put my sprint up on the ferry one day...

enjoy it for now! You've earned that much

Mmm, a bit like what happened to the Alfasud then!

Well, it looks like Philip has got everything in hand, but skittish with mega-light steering all point to sky-high front spring rates. Need anvil

Still trying to see if I can do both Supercar Sunday at Goodwood and Stanford Hall somehow. Weather on the day will decide - and unlike the instantly recognisable Alfa 6C, I struggle to convince doubters that the Green Machine should be allowed in (three years ago was an exception, as Stanford Hall doubled as NAD and I had a model parking pass). We shall have to see!

Sadly it was the rust that ended the life of most Suds ,Alfettas/ GTV6s etc I had them all .
Wouldnt it be something if the 6C was seen by Fiat as something from which to develop a new Sprint/Sud model range .with the 6c at the top end. Is that pie in the sky?
The recent tremendous success of the regenerated Fiat 500 could be repeated with an Alfa
And what more succesful car has there been in Alfa history.that the Alfa Sud /Sprint.?
One must hope at least Alfa GB will recognise in some way the contribution Sixnut has made to Alfa heritage.

Perhaps not, but I doubt if Fiat would bother to engineer a mid engine chassis - they would just put a V6 FWD into a MiTo and call it a Sprint.

Nice idea though

What is now needed is for Alfa GB to meet Alfa Sixnut and his 6C at one of the Event Days .
I believe the wheels are now in motion, but thet Auto Italia Day this coming weekend is rather short notice.
It would be great if Sixnut could get to AROC East Anglia Section Day the following weekend
June 13th at Ickworth House Bury St.Edmunds.[National Trust].Good event last year and not far.

Hi Phillip,

been keeping an eye on progress and would also like to congratulate you on your accomplishment! Saw the car at our show last year and it was looking awesome so you being able to drive it through our gates in 3 weeks times to be greeted by our gate girls will be fantastic! Well done, your good lady will deserve a meal out - you can take my private space if you come along for dinner in the 6C and I will put a bottle of red on the table for you also!

See you at Beds Italian Car & Bike Day on Sunday 27th June if not before, all the best,

Ciro
