I did not know about Spring Alfa day - it doesn't appear to be on the events calendar on this site but April may be pushing it??? I am planning to be at Stanford Hall June 6th and Bedfordshire Car Day June 27th - then MITCAR Aug 8th.

Perhaps Sixnut should take a spare battery to the events or have some planned startup times on display as interest in the sound of the 164 V6 will be considerable.
On reflection ,the demonstration of the engine sound to an admirer at a car show is not something one asks for or is offered ,is it?
I suppose one could get to an event very early to hear the 6C arrive or wait till it leaves.
Sixnut have you any thought on this matter.as you cant please everyone.?

I - and others on here, are really looking forward to meeting you too Chris

Re the sound of the V6 - I'm sure the 6C will need "repositioning" two or three times during an event....

Kev, not wanting to highjack the thread for rambling on about spring Alfa day, I'll just say this to let you and your fellow Lincolnshire guys know, i'll be staying over in the Market Deeping area on the night before, so should be travelling in the same direction as some of you to get to the event.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!! Finally spent a couple of hours on the car this afternoon. I've tidied up the petrol pipe run in the engine bay - those silly crimped pipe clamps took brute force to remove - after having to jack up the car to get to them underneath.
Then I carried on bleeding the b......g clutch slave cylinder I've used the finger on the bleed hole, I've used tubes on the bleed nipple, I've even removed the cylinder to hold it up higher and get the air out. I've pushed the piston right in. I've pumped slowly and I've pumped quickly.......and it's still got air in and won't work I've got a few days now though - so it will be done!!

Clutch now works! Well it feels as if it ought to work - having spent three hours bleeding and finally taking the slave cylinder off again and propping it so the bleed nipple was as high as possible, even more air was pumped out and it finally went "firm" and the slave cylinder moves the clutch arm "in time" to the clutch pedal
Also did final fixing for the fuel tank and re installed the gearchange rods with the lower bulkhead - but still got to sort out the reverse select "pull cable" system.
But at least it is progress........

Well done Philip, its a great feeling to get a car moving under its own power for the first time. And I bet that, unlike me, you didn't have a cracked cylinder head on one bank that prevented you from driving back into the garage!

I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your car in daylight
