What he said! This is going to look stunning when done. Not a colour I usually like on cars generally but I think silver suits the Sprint's svelte shape well personally.

Or is it yellow?

No - its a straight "Silver Mist"
....and the pictures prove it....
There is still some detail work and the bumpers to colour but I hopefully will get the car back home on Thursday......

6C is really starting to take shape

Silver..............my favourite Sprint colour, I had 3 in silver

The last one, when I did the restoration, I had resprayed in BMW silver because the colour was more silvery than the Alfa silver

Having seen the 6c just 10 days ago .while sixnut was negotiating with the paint sprayer .I am impressed with progress made .But will the V6 start and keep running ?
I still think deep blue is a better colour if the car is to atract attention on the open road.
If just a show car ,then silver is ok.
Was pleased to buy a part from the 164 doner car .in order to make a small cintribution to the 6c kitty ,which the repray will make a big holei in.
I have found the forum to be full of pleasant and rewarding cross threads
I bought a front bumper from sixnut and had him send a headlamp washer unit from it to a forum friend. Some yobbo had nicked two of the jets.
I told him about the 6c .project and some months later ,the same fellow supplied the worn breakpads Sivnut needed urgently .
In time we will both be able to say I had a small part in that

When you turn the key.pray like hell
For an ecu just give me a bell

I thought red, as on the original sprint 6c, would look best. But after looking at the pics I must admit that it looks GREAT in silver!!! It really looks like a supercar from the rear!!! It reminds me of the Alfa Ferrari that I once saw in Cars and Car Conversions. It was a very successful rally car in the UK if i'm not mistaken. Are you thinking of using it for rallying or on the track when it's finished?

I knew you lot would come round to silver in the end. Best choice of colour for the 6C - after lime green of course

Philip, the car is looking great! I know from experience what a great boost to morale it is seeing the car all of one colour. I hope the detail finishing goes well and that your 6C purrs into life without any problems.

Dag nabit, but I just love mid-engined Alfa specials

Thumbs Up Not long to go til 12th July 09!

Hi Philip,

great to see you the other day and catch up with you regarding progress...the latest pics look awesome and it will be a great pleasure to host the unveiling of your project at our show on Sunday 12th July 09!

Have tried to add the event to the calendar - several Alfa's have already registered....

See you then!

Hi Eddie
I spotted this event back in Dec (Ref P14 post 347) then discovered a bit more (ref P21 post 524) and that is why my wife (Lovely Gorgeous Adorable lady ) is paying for the respray as a birthday present
The logic is with such a tight timescale if the engine is not running I can tow it or trailor it...
However, although the car Will be there - I might have to be in Yorkshire, as my daughter is ........due to give birth on the 12th!

Can she pay for mine as well Philip?

I might go to this, only a couple of hours drive for me. Would be good to see the 6c in the flesh

I was thinking about moseying over as well - the Vesuvio event got a good write up in the AROC newsletter last year. How does it work? Turn up, park up and eat pizza? Or is there some sort of advance booking/application thing?

And are there any speed bumps?????????

Philip thats great news with the baby

Dont worry about the date though, I'm also gonna be a godfather on the 12th of July , part of the reason I couldnt push myself to come and visit this summer :rolleyes

Have you been able to get some more pictures of the car tonight ?

Are the bumpers painted as well ?

Is he painting the " engine bay " as well ?

Am I asking too many questions ?

Thanks for the best wishes re first grandchild.....
Mark - you could ask her..... but it was either a spray job or cremation
I tried to put the event up, but the site wouldn't accept it for some reason????
No speed bumps Lauren
Yes you can pre register via the website? or just turn up (I believe)
Here are the latest pics with a bit of polishing having been done and the masking removed and "yes the bumpers are now painted" S16V but only the outside painted. The plan is to get it all sorted and settled for a year or so then do a stripdown, detail and respray.
If the weather is ok it will be trailered home tomorrow.
