I remember standard 14" giving loads of squealing round corners and a lot of fun. 15" a good upgrade 16" not as much fun and feed back. I've had them all.
Suspension setup makes a difference on tyre choice, you will need a stiff tyre wall with a hard suspension setup.
What is your setup Coachu??

Up to you, what do you want from the car.
I was just saying that if you had a stiff suspension setup you will need a stiff tyre wall. I went to AHM class f race springs and my 195 50 15 toyo proxes t1r would understeer as the tyrewall was too soft. I bought some toyo r888 in the same size for track and went to 16" for road. I would prefer a 15" for road but couldn't find a way of telling if a particular tyre has a stiff tyrewall.

20mm bigger in diameter than 195/50R15.
Could be a bit much.

For 15" I prefer 195/45 it's the same diameter as the original 165/70/13, 195/50 just looks too thick in my opinion. But they may fill the arches better on a car with standard ride height.
