What is this wire?

Hi

Im restauring my 33 1.7 16v and today I found a wire unconnected.
Its located near the distribuctor.

What is this wire and were should I connect it?

Hi,

IMHO that's the wire to the coolant temp gauge in the instrument cluster.
The sender is in the LH intake.

No...

the wire to the coolant temp gauge in the instrument cluster, is connected right, because I see the temp raising when I start the car and also when the fan kicks.

And also it is no the wire to the oil pressiore sensor, I tested it grounding the wire.

Well... my second guess is the overheating warning light,
if that sender is disconnected, and the wire in the picture
is long enough to reach it.

Maybe you are right!!!
The sensor is on the side of the left head... isnt it???

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, yes: on 16V engines the sensor is on the left head, it's facing towards the firewall.

You were right.
It was the overheating warning light sensor.

Problem solved.
