Re: Rear Seat Belts
I have not got any pictures but I can tell you the following: -
I recently put rear belts in my 3 dr Hatchback Sud which I purchased from a a guy who was breaking his 3 door Sud. These had been fitted to his Sud from new. If you lift the rear seat there should be 6 plastic plugs which need to be pulled out. They have a screwdriver slot in them, but they won't screw out. You will need to pull them out. A trim removal tool or a self tapper screwed in and levered out should do the trick. The top mounts have plugs which can be removed from the inside of the C pillar. The actual reels on mine mount onto the top of the rear shock absorber mount and the reels are hidden by the trim. You will need to cut slots into the trim at the side for the webbing to run through. However, the seatbelts on a 33 may be different. If you are struggling I will take photos and e mail them to you. Dave |

Re: Rear Seat Belts
as Dave said.
under the seat the holes are there ready in the floor for end of belts, the "loop" mounts on the c pillar and the hole is there under plastic cover, but the 33 reel mounts just under the parcel shelf/speaker cover, am not too sure if the sud has that hole or not. i will have a look tomoro. |

Re: Rear Seat Belts
Thanks guys
I've found the 6 mounting holes under the rear seat and the one in the c pillar, but there is nothing obvious in the boot area as to where the actual reels should be mounted - ie no existing holes. So any pics or advice as to where to put them would be much appreciated thanks again MK ps - i've attached a pic to show what she looked like yesterday after all the suspension went back on |

Re: Rear Seat Belts
hi,
had a look at car today, and i think it must be meant to be as Dave said about the reel bolting onto top of rear shock top mount! strange but true... as there is a letterbox type slot in the metal under the hole in c pillar and above the shock top. but mine has no rear belts so i cant say further than that. It should be easy enough to make up a bracket to get the 33 belt to fit on the shock, just needs a 90degree bend and two holes ... good luck. Mark. ps its coming on isnt it ![]() most of my Ti is in the shed behind the garage!

Re: Rear Seat Belts
As Matt says you may need to make a 90 degree bracket with 2 holes in it.
One side of the bracket mounts onto the top shock absorber mounting and the other one to the reel. The webbing does come through the slot hidden by the trim. Cheers Dave |

Re: Rear Seat Belts
Thanks again guys
Will have a go at making a suitable bracket and let you know how i get on. The wheels are 15" TSW Pace alloys with 195 50 15 Yokohamas, the offset is 42 (i think) which makes them sit a little wider than normal and with the lowered suspension - i think they fill the arches quite nicely - just wondering if there is enough clearance at the back when i drive with a little 'vigour' I'm making progress with the car slowly, the wing rails were replaced along with the wings, which are in the shed at the mo. The main reason for it being in bits was to replace the suspension springs, so i thought - whilst it's in bits - i'll tidy it up under all the arches and pretty up the suspension components. Problem i've got now is that although the wings are almost ready to go back on - the front doors are in bits waiting for me to tidy up the door handles, window runners and window seals. So much to do - so little time thanks again MK

Re: Rear Seat Belts
Thanks Pat
It's taking a little longer than anticipated - but then don't they always. Unfortunately i've not got a garage or lock-up to do the work in - so its all being done on the driveway (missus really loves that!!!). Current snags at the moment are a CV joint gaiter that doesn't fit properly cos its not an original part so its chucked grease all over the suspension and inside the wheel - yuk - and a leaky gerabox seal which drips oil straight onto the exhaust!! Will keep you informed of progress and post some more pics soon cheers. |
