Watching this sale with interest!.
This was the car built by Mick Covill (Featured in "Silly Suds" on the AlfaSud Register website) - but did he sell it to someone in Ireland?

He must have sold it - the ebay seller is clearly talking it up like its some sort of factory racer. A TiX it may have once been, but there's not much left now!

I love the way Mick made it look so authentic with the period Alitalia paint job (he did the same on his mid-engined Lancia Beta coupe - that was road-registered), the 'Sud is suitable for the track only. Mick built it for drag racing, there's some footage on Youtube I think...

When I spoke to Mick at the pod, he told me it was to heavy at the front for good handling so I would like to see what this guy has done to get "pin point accuracy"

I think he is trying to say "its as heavy at the back as it is at the front"

...Which of course was the problem with all the twinnies, Alfa Bimotore, twinnie-Mini (twinnie Moke was more effective, but couldn't carry anything), Wainer Alfasud Bimotore etc. etc. The high polar moment of intertia means they have great front/rear balance, but ultra-slow turn-in. And, if you are unfortunate enough to get into a spin, you just can't stop it. Cars with high PMOI don't do corners.

Mick built this car for the drag strip, and that is the only place it can really be effective.

He also says only 3 Tix's left
I've seen 2 and mine + this one makes 4
Plus I'm sure there are more on "how many left"

Gone up to 3200 pounds already !

I think the TiX is an Alfa GB special edition done in the UK in 1981/2. The only differences between a S3 1.5Ti and the TiX I can remember are body colour grille and mirrors. They had the same high final drive ratio gearbox as the Gold Cloverleaf but this was probably the way Alfa were making them at the time.

Alfa Sprint

The latest Australian Classic Car magazine has an article on a Giocattolo Group B which is based on the Sprint but with a 5l V8 in the rear pushing out 241bhp in car which weighs 1140kg.
