Mk 1 Sud ti - quick update - going to move on
Hi,
Just thought I'd give an update here on the mk1 sud ti I bought at the start of the year.
Following my impulse ebay purchase, my intention had been to undertake a rolling restoration, but 5 months and she's sat in my garage and I've done absolutely nothing.
So I've decided to move one - either the sud or the GTA needs to go (really can't justify 2 Alfa toys) and the practicality and condition of the 147 has to win through.
Will be posting an ad in the appropriate section once I've taken some pictures later, but also wanted to flag it in here (hope that's ok) and to thank everyone for their input when I first picked her up.
cheers
Matt

pretty sure you'll have no problem finding a buyer matt
be sure to keep details in this thread as well as the classifieds, not many people look in the ads now.
can understand the head ruling the heart though, but 147's are ten a penny
good luck with the sale

Here is a pic.
She has no history sadly, but details are as follows - I'm trying to be as honest as possible here:
S Reg ('78) Sud Ti in erm.. beautiful 70s browny orange
approx 100,000 miles (just turned over 00700)
well repaired in the usual places in the past - sills, arches etc and there is no rust that I'm aware of
Paintwork is ok, but wasn't done brilliantly to be honest
I've just put a new MOT and had a service done (oil, filter, battery) at my italian car specialist. Tax runs for another few days, so I'll probably put 6 months on her
All the trim (the hard to find bits) is in place - grill, badges, door cards etc
seats are getting a bit tired, but no rips or tears
gearbox is good, engine seems strong, electrics (lights, wipers, heater etc) all work,
all in all, I'd say a jolly good S1 ti :-)
I'm going to place the car on ebay with a reserve of £2000 at the weekend, but open to offers until then - feel free to PM me ! (I'd much rather see it go from AO than EBAY)
More pics to follow.
Matt
PS - hope nobody minds me putting this in here.

Nice looking mk1 ti ... I wish you well with selling her to a new owner... I'm pretty sure at that price you will get one or two PM enquiries.

Well i've just had a very enjoyable drive up the A1 from near London in Matts S1 Sud, having become the lucky new owner this week. Many thanks to Matt for meeting me in London and concluding the sale, much appreciated.
Was a bit dubious about driving up bank holiday friday for fear of loads of traffic, lots of stop starts etc, but have to admit, probably the most fun ive had for ages !! sat at 70 / 75/ 80 / 85 no problem.....
Looking forward to using it whilst the Green S1 is rebuilt as featured on another thread....

It's a small world, I saw you / this Sud on the A1 on Friday somewhere near Doncaster going North. I was going South, but you wouldnt have noticed me (as I was in a BMW... ).

funny how you do that eh rich?
when i was doing Jap imports, i'd go steady all the way from various UK ports and docks, and then the last twenty miles of A1, hell for leather to see how quickly they reach the limiter,
the ideology being, if it blows up now, i'm not far from home, and think nothing of the fact that several £K has just washed into the hard shoulder! ha ha!
human behaviour???
