i have an '88 alfa 33 1.5L, i've noticed that its making a weird rattling noise coming from the right side of the engine, but i can't determine what the noise is, i've checked the belts and they arent making the noise. any help on how to determine what this noise is?
by right side, is that as viewed from the front of the car
could well be the hot air pick-up cowling on the exhaust they always seem to be a bit loose and rattle a fair amount
Yes there is a hose that collects the oil fumes and burns them on the excaust . Ussually this is rusted and vibrates on certain rpms and makes that rattling noice...
it's the right side from inside the car. i think it may what you have suggested though, as i put it on a hoist today and thats what seems to be the problem. Also, the engine always smells like burnt oil but i never find any oil on the floor. could this be the oil pressure sensor?
