Re: car

Was just going to say you need to lower it about an inch or so to make it look right

Re: car

not too bad pat, i do like wheels with a darker centre though there is a guy selling some 15" revolutions on the items for sale section, for a 75 but may fit not cheap though
i do like the cloverleaf standard alloys though, but 15's would be nice

Re: car

hi kev i saw those revolutions but they are 5 stud also have seen the work that you have put in the sud am im well impressed with how your getting stuck in cannot wait to see it on the road mate.
p.s what would look good on your car is getting your alloys polished and laquered.

Re: car

shame about the 75 wheels, didn't realise they are 5 stud
polished alloys was just gonna get them blasted and sprayed, might be worth a go
looking forward to it on the road aswell mate

I used Spax lowering springs on mine - supposed to give about a 30mm drop - but they've slammed mine to the floor - i like the look and the handling but the ride quality at the rear is terrible - there is almost no 'suspension' at all and it crashes and bangs at the slightest crack in the road

Would be interested to know what others have used to drop the suspension but maintain some ride quality .

Nice wheels by the way Pat - but i think the Revolutions would suit better, especially if they are black with silver rims on your black car

cheers

cheers matt i will get some revolutions later to put on the car as for springs i had some eibach ones on my sud years back and if they still do them it lowered the car and was not too stiff.

Re: car

Pat,

I like the rims, but agree that you need to lower your sud slightly.
I had koni gas shocks and eibach springs on my old 33 1.7ie that dropped it about 25mm. Made the thing corner like it was on rails. Ride was stiffer but not too bad apart from one bump on the M40 just south of the junction for the A34. Always used to hit my head on the roof !

Re: car

i was very tempted myself mark, and as it was only around 35 miles away it was difficult to stop myself going to have a look i know i would have ended up buying it, especially if it wasn't that bad went for the grand total of £58 soemone got an absolute bargain then
collected my front panel today from him so am happy enough
did have a quick look in his boxes of bits, seems there will be plenty of bits and bobs coming up for sale soon again, had to stop myself going on a spending spree
