Heater fan

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas about fixing a heater fan in the sprint... The fan itself does not go. Is it usually an electrical fault or is it actually the fan itself? I believe the heaters in these are notorious for not going....

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Re: Heater fan

Hi the fans usually stop working due to corrosion on the shaft that they spin on try spraying the shaft with lube this worked on mine 'it's a bit more work but pull the hole heater unit out to do this.

Re: Heater fan

Before you do that, see if you can test the plug closest to the fan to see if it's being supplied with power.

Re: Heater fan

Cool thanks guys,

So to get at the fan it looks like you have to take out the heater radiator and the tray bit that ducts the air inside? then the fan is down under the dash somewhere. Do you get to it from the engine bay side or the inside by removing parts of the dash and centre console?

I know the Sprint is different, but with the 33 you have to take out the whole ventilation unit so you can separate it to get the fan out. It took me all weekend to remove it, oil the fan, wash out the heater core and put it all back, which is why I suggest eliminating every other cause first!

Re: Heater fan

The sprint is the same you have to remove the hole unit to service the fan it's a pain but it needs to be done.
