Still looking for a sprint!

I am still hunting for a sprint, if anyone knows of one or has one for sale. I would like a green cloverleaf, preferably the model with the rubbing strip on, ie not a very late model. Cash waiting for the right car...

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

Can you be patient - I have one which I am may sell maybe at end of summer. Just getting the engine tuned up, and brake pads changed. Interior has been valeted and exterior needs a polish. It's a 1.7 model - let me know if this suits. Pics are posted here in the general section http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/gener...d-done-it.html (Gone and done it . . . . . . .)

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

I may be interested mate, but I really wanted a slightly earlier model. How much do you want for it?

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

If you mean the Red Motori 1.5 Sprint (chrome bumper) my guess is it still is available at around £2k.

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

Yes I did look at it.

It was in very good shape having been restored well. The only obvious downsides:

1 Bubbling to bonnet (he offered to include a s/h replacement)
2 Bubbling around glass sunroof (needs a webasto to sort)
3 Missing detailing (minor trim)
4 Brown interior a bit dull.

Drove well (not a veloce I believe)

There wasn't much movement on the price (he rejected my £1.6k offer).

This car could make one of the best available in my opinion.

David

Around £1300 once I have done the wee jobs that I need to do. It was restored in 2001 so underside is solid. COuple of wee cosmetic bits which I will look at getting sorted too, and there are a raft of bits with it too (gearbox, 3 x spare alloys, 2 x back boxes) PM me or call me on 07810 103247 if you want any more information

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

Hi. I've got an '84 sprint I'll be selling soon.

Its a 1.5 south african import in pale blue. Its been off the road for a while but I've just about finished recommissioning it and had planned to take it for an MoT in a week or so.

Bad points are it really needs front wings, rear wheel arches starting to go, has had the black/green seats fitted to a brown carpet & dash style interior, it has a horrible set of aftermarket alloys and its on a Q plate.

Good points are being south african its in generally sound condition, runs well, I think the colour suits the car and it will come with a pair of new bumpers, second hand fibreglass front wings and speedline alloys.

I'm open to offers on price.

Let me know if your interested and I'll email some pics. Car is 5 mins from M1 J20.

cheers
Brian

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

Well ive finally found a sprint. Its a A reg veloce with a 1.7 in it. Its a good car, just needs minor bits doing to it. Bought it off a great bloke who has had the car a long time. Got all the original book, service history and plenty of spares.Pics to follow....

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

That looks to be in amazing almost time warp condition. From the interior trim and silver/grey bumper inserts it looks like it started life as a 1.3 Sprint. The interior actually looks more contemporary now than the black and green interior a Green Cloverleaf of that age would have had.

Re: Still looking for a sprint!

It did start life as a 1.3 yes. Its since had a 1.5 fitted, then a 1.7. I always wanted a sprint with the black/green interior, but this one was in such good condition and has grown on me already. Had a good poke around the car today and apart from a small bubble around the windscreen and minor bubbling on the sills, its pretty damn good. Its had lots of new parts, the same owner for the last 18 years and stacks of history. Im looking forward to getting the sills tidied up this week and sending it for MOT.
