Re: Big Brakes

Hello 33alfa, yep I have fitted 300mm rotors and 4 pot calipers to my car a little while ago, only i have 16inch on the car and for them to fit under 15inch might be a bit tight, the brakes are from Hi Spec in Dartford , they also have a web site, the guys there are helpful modifying a bracket so the calipers fit to the hub , but they do cost quite a bit of money, but a lot less than than apart or brembo.

Re: Big Brakes

A simple solution might be to move the standard 33 calipers further out to take a 284mm disc. It should be possible to fit a 284x22mm disc from Alfa 155,145 etc

4 pot calipers are expensive and also much bigger than the standard type calipers and hence difficult to get under a 15" wheel

Pads are too small for efficient braking in that case.

Re: Big Brakes

BTW pads are the same as in all Alfa models with 284 discs (Alfa 147 20, 156 2.0....) so we are safe, there are no forbidden Vauhall/Opel parts on Alfas (calipers are Ate)

Re: Big Brakes

You will be limited to the 284mm disc with a 15" wheel. I run a 315mm disc but that requires a 16" wheel.
You should be able to achieve more than satisfactory braking with a 284mm disc on a Sprint - the 315mm and 4-pot calipers i run are a bit over the top for a road car.

Was going to say the same thing but you just need to watch the Vauxhall calipers are designed for 24mm wide discs but shouldnt be a problem unless you ran the pads completely flat

Now I just need to find some calipers that will fit the 305x28mm or 330x32mm Alfa discs for my 156 without having to fit 4 pot calipers

I am running 256 discs, and they are enough for 7-8 rounds on the race track, so 284 are more than enough. Sprint with 315 is Sci-fi

Why? fit Alga GTA calipers, just have to find that GTA part where disc and calipers fit (don't know english word for that part which is different on GTA model)

Already have 4 pot Brembo's on one car and looking for something cheaper that will fit 16" wheels for my other car but still give increased braking. Alfa parts are hard to find here too but I will probably just fit a set of Ferodo pads instead
