New timing belts = new whining noise.

Got my 33 back just the other day, new belts, tensioners, and water pump fitted, fresh coolant and full service. engine now makes a kind of sweet whining noise when u accelerate which it never did before. It actually sounds quite nice but i dont know if this the new belts????? Sounds to me that its coming from the belts, any suggestions?
When shes warmed up she's idling at 1500rpm according to the tacho, i know these engines usually tick over a bit higher.

Sounds like the new belts have been overtensioned. Take it back to the garage and tell them to tension the belts properly staright away, or you can leave them and the whining noise will eventually go as the belts stretch over time.
A 1500rpm idle is much too fast, should be around 900-1000rpm.

Theres a lot 'whizzing' and 'whirring' in that area, so unless it really gets more obnoxious, and you can't stand it,(sounds like you enjoy the air-cutting whistle) : forget it.:

I've just had new belts put in one of my cars, and you can hear them a little but from experience the noise will go once the belts 'wear in'.

Yes, I can hear my newly-replaced belts too, but part of that is due to them being only six inches behind my ears

I know they are tensioned correctly because I did them myself "by the book". Timing the darned things is hard part (for me anyway).
