Yes its the 2 that were on the 33 board.
Thats is the better of the pair and it is reasonably good.
inner sills and floors seem good as is tailgate, boot floor and the wings are good worst parts (so far) are the outer sills, passenger door, and areas of inner wing, (very similiar to the last areas Mr Toad posted about.)
and the area under the heater box.
interior is fair and complete.
the other one isnt so great but may, just about, be saveable.
am hoping to return one to STD and turn the other to a racer,
assuming i can find a series where it will be a competitive proposition...
just really not looking forward to the trip back to fetch it.
Am there now

Hi, thanks to Mike, who posted about his sprint racer recently,
I am looking at the CSCC series.regs are breifly below.
"We have very few regulations. Basically it must have the original outside profile eg. No add on spoilers or wide wheel arches that were not on the production car. The engine must be the original type fitted to the car eg Alfa Romeo and not a V8! And the induction system must be the same eg. no fuel injection on an originally carburetted car. Tyres must be any 1a or1b tyre as per the blue book. The car needs to comply with the safety regs. in the MSA blue book but otherwise everything else is pretty well free."

Re: alfasuds
I looked at the pre '83 touring car series (is that the CTCRC ?), but the main issue there was that the 1600cc Mk1 Golf's etc that are on the grid are up to 160bhp, which is a lot to try and get a 1500 boxer to without a £££ types of modifications. The other option I considered was the old top hat series, there is a S2 'saloon' sud ti that runs in that series. | |
