Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
Got the 33 booked in for its MOT this saturday so if there arent too many problems it stands a good chance I might drag the 33 along. Its really just a Sud in a 33 body anyway.
Only other problems I have is inbetween times I have got the 146 to MOT. The mrs's Marina to MOT and a weeks holiday, and no I am not allowed to spend it working on the car(s).

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
I've been having more regular occurrences of the fuel starvation problem that affected my trip to Stanford Hall (once on Saturday getting the shopping and TWICE going to "Thoroughbred Sunday" at Goodwood), but I've found the cause of the problem (silicone "jellyfish" swimming in the tank and blocking the pickup), so the race is on to fabricate a fuel strainer before Sunday...
MITCAR is going to be the official AROC Alfasud register meeting this year, so get there if you can!

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
Right, I've fabricated a fuel strainer out of 8mm alloy tubing, crimped over at one end, 2" long and with 32 x 1mm holes along its length - only a really BIG jellyfish is going to block that completely
Done 24 miles today in mixed motoring, the engine seems happy, but any minor jolt (of which there are a lot with my suspension) makes me worry that I'm about to have another roadside breakdown...
I've got a few more miles to do today, which should give the system a good shakedown prior to Sunday.
Have you noticed, the more people cry off, the worse the weather forecast seems to get? Hmmm...
Lauren

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
Sadly I am not now going to be able to get there as I really wanted to meet up with other Sud and Sprint owners.
I think I am going to bite the bullet and get my car professionally restored. I now have new replacement front wings and ...hell you can't take it with you can you?
Hope its a great day

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
Looking forward to seeing AOers this Sunday - but is it a thought to try to be at, say Lauren's (Spacenut) Nova at 1pm, rather than - "Oh - he was here a moment ago"......and we never actually meet on the day?

perfect idea, laurens car can't easily be confused with others so should be a foolproof way of meeting up

A crowd of enthusiastic Alfista around my car? Why should I mind???
It sounds like a great idea, and at least this time I won't miss it

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
Glad you all had a great day. Sad I couldnt be there.
My weekend has been spent working on my 146 back brakes and welding the holes up in it. Cant complain it is 10 years old. My first Sud had had at least one major rebuild by now.
Maybe next time.

Re: Alfasud meet MITCAR
not really anything to do with cars, but something else to interest the family while we were there. had a look around the house and gardens and saw a ******** display why is my daughter stood on a lawn with what looks like a wlders glove up to her armpit

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...itcar20084.jpg
nice falconry display
this owl was quite cute and a nice touch to let 2 girls have a go and getting the owl to 'land' on them
i asked sarah if she was scared and if she liked it ' i was a bit scared, but he was blooming heavy' she replied
