Sat Nav Code

I have managed to get hold of a Sat Nav Reader for my 166 - I have plugged it in and have power but it is asking for the code. It was sold as having the code and has a Identikarte with it showing the serial number but no code.
Does the code relate to the sat nav reader or the ICS? I have the ICS code but not a Sat Nav Code (It is an older unit so CLIMA + DARK probably won't give me the info I need).
Is there a website where you can get the codes as you can for the ICS itself or is it a visit to the local dealer?

Re: Sat Nav Code

The code relates to the Sat Nav unit. There is a separate code for the ICS. Cars should be supplied with the code cards but they're often missing. I'm not sure if a dealer will be able to help with the Nav Code, unfortunately. They don't seem to know much about it and some people have waited months without any answer. There are also people on the forum who have approached the manufacturer (Siemens) direct and they don't seem to have a clue either! If your unit was sold as having the code, contact the seller and request the code from them.

I recall someone claiming that the (4 digit) code number is displayed on some units, towards the bottom of the serial number sticker. Maybe you'll get lucky with that! Re Clima/Dark and older cars, this is not necessarily a problem and worth trying. My '99 Super shows the Nav Code using that key combination, for example.
There's a lot of good info on the forum, as it's a well-worn subject . Try

Hope it's a G3, or you'll be limited to very old maps . Good luck!

Everybody stay calm. Don't panic. It's just the end of the world. It'll be all right, as long as we all keep chanting.

Re: Sat Nav Code

dealers can get the code using the serial number but convincing them of that is very difficult....i met with a brick wall when i spoke to a very arrogant and unhelpful person in Arnold Clark (surprise surprise!).

Re: Sat Nav Code

You could always try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery - worked for me (and at least a couple of other people) after months and months of the usual apathy/misinformation from various dealers...

Good luck,
