Re: 166,Iwant one!!!
In actual fact the v6s' are more economical on a run,say cruising on
the m/way than the t/s,however not in traffic when the consumption
drops dramatically,my 2.5 did an overall 24.7 mpg,25.9 for my t/s
5spd,my current 6spd t/s 27mpg ,so not a great deal in it,the 3.0
consumption is very poor around town ,but on long runs the taller
gearing comes into its' own and a creditable 34mpg is easily
attainable,I notice Dougie has had some good mpg figures from his.
I think the ones to avoid are sportronics, with the manual v6s' you can stick them in a high gear and just trickle along, there is plenty of torque.
Having said all that T/S far better around the twisty stuff, much
sharper handling,I am glad I have had four different 166s',really
gives you a good insight into the attributes of each model.
Talking of which, have you seen the picture of the 57 plate
2008 facelift that Veloces are offfering for sale, have a look
at the wheels, they are awful, look like they have come off an early 156
in no way do they suit the car!
