Darren, see here
Was originally up for £2700, but belts last done in 2001, so now overdue.
Let me know if you're interested in it, cos I was gonna have a look at it next week (bit of an impulse thing, and it's a long way from me), but I won't bother if you're gonna have a look.
BTW, sounds like a nice car, HPI clear.
Yeah that's the one mate, it looks decent enough so I've emailed the guy some questions and am awaiting his response, still not heard anything back though. If I don't hear anything back by tomorrow I'll give him a ring instead.
other expensive things you want to check on the V6 are the clutch and worn suspension.....
Yeah, I have asked him about the clutch and will check the suspension and everything else if I go to view it.
Sounds like it could be a good one with that spec & history, Darren. Check all the electrics, climate control etc. carefully. If it doesn't rev strongly and smoothly up to the redline, could be in need of a new MAF.
Cheers Tony, for the price I can't really go far wrong, unless it's shagged,
Looks good Darren. Private seller too according to the ad.
I don't think the 166 sells especially quickly and a 3.0 will put some off - it's a bit of a niche even though it should not be. You may well be able to twist the seller's arm at around the £2k you had in mind.
When you thinking of viewing? Wouldn't mind a look too (not to buy, just a nose)!
Well once the guy gets back to me I'm gonna suggest a 'Viewing with intent to buy' for next Saturday hopefully. I have money in the bank ready for a new car, it's just trying to find one that's the problem.
The Super is a TINY bit quicker than the 156 0-60 but after that should see it off, and I'd mainly be buying it for performance,
Although saying that, I commute to work each day and do about 150 work miles a week, so it would be nice to have a big cruiser that's also likely to see off most other cars it comes across.
