: I would agree that the rigidity of the front body, for support purposes, is the subframe mounted area, if you can manage to get axle stand supports to engage in that area, successfully. Guess Mr.Wilkinson's,( former bodyshop manager, Friary conversions? college instructor) sourced information, is now outdated.
: He advocated supporting the vehicle at the front of the inner and outer sill panels, using caution, as he told us the vertical supporting potential of sheet steel being used at the time was massive. Probably not applicable to todays motors' build, so if I have been giving out dated information, apologies to all and sundry.
: The sills on the 147 still seem un-deformed though, and the doors still open and close fine, so suits.
