no, not the missus but my 164!
Tough decision time...
I've been given first refusal on a very nice 156 2.4 JTD Sportwagon and here's my dilemma... My 164 has been fantastic; it took me ages to find one in such good condition and believe me, if I could comfortably afford to run both I'd have a 164 and a Sportwagon sitting outside my house!
I also have a Vectra estate for day to day use and load lugging. the 164 is my 'weekend' car.
I'm selling the Vectra shortly and I'm hoping the SW will satisfy my desire for another Alfa and be a fast but practical ride!
If I do decide to go for the SW, I will have to reluctantly let the 164 go.
Back to my query, what's she worth?
It's very difficult trying to get a realistic value; a lot of the 164's I've seen advertised are either being sold for spares, or need huge amounts of work doing to them and this is reflected in the price asked.
The previous owner of mine had spent over 5 grand getting it in excellent shape.
Work carried out includes:
Complete professional engine rebuild
Cloverleaf air runners
New rear subframe
New exhaust system
New Koni yellow shocks
reconditioned brake calipers
Aircon overhauled with new condenser
A folder of service history plus technical schematics and service CD
2 spare alloys
Just under 80k on the clock and in overall excellent condition.
All electrics work with just the usual LCD display missing some of it's digits.
I'm still waiting for the dealer to come back to me with a part-ex figure, but I know I could do better with a private sale to an enthusiast.
So, any ideas guys?
