some of you will know of my efforts to restore my 1991 164, which is going brilliantly, or atleast it was...have cleaned the engine bay, & she looks great (little bit of work to go though!), having cleaned all of it, i put it all back together & started her up, fired up first time, yepee i thought i've not damaged anything, then i tried to select a gear, thats were the problems started, she won't select a gear, the only gear she will sort of go in is reverse, but its all crunch! Now she will go into all gears when the engine is off, but as soon as she's fired up its back to no go.
Ok, so i've checked the levels, & shes full of brake/clutch fluid, & when i press the clutch the lever in the engine bay is moving, but she's refusing to select a gear!!!
anyone know of anything that could be the problem???
BTW the only other thing i've done is replace the front d/s brake pad, and she was up on a jack for a good few days
oh & i did clean some of the engine with a power hose, i'm trying to give as much info just incase i've f*cked up anywhere!
