Help indicator fault?

Hi to all - i am virgin Alfa owner, so sorry to hit with a technical query straight away.......
i have a 2000 166 2.0ts Lusso
the fault... indicators on both left and right flash twice as fast as i think they should (compared to other cars)
the hazzard lights seem to work at normal flash rate.
apart from this little quirk ........ I LOVE THE 166 but LUST for the 3.0 litre version

Re: indicator fault?

HI welcome, Alfa's always seem to throw up the unusual.

Normally this fault is when there is a lack or resistance eg only 2 bulbs are working and its set for 3, so flashes faster, when eg 5 out 6 work its a bit nearer what is expected, so flashes nearer normal speed.

Only thing I can think of is there is a bulb out on both sides (unlikely) or the previous owner has put in the wrong rated bulb on both sides (maybe less unlikely but still odd) or the flasher unit is faulty.
