166 radiator change

i'm going to be changing the radiator on my 166 on thursday. I want to flush the system first with some 'coolant system' flush, but i'm a little bit worried that some of the flush will stay in the engine block since i can't drain the block. I did think i could pour the flush into the expansion tank and let the engine warm up and pump it round for a while and then once it had cooled again i could remove the expansion tank cap and trickle water from a hose into the expansion tank untill it runs clear of anti-freeze and flush. Is this a good idea?

....plus are there any other tips for rad changes?, i do have a copy of the manual to guide me but is it pretty straight forward?
