I think you are right Niall ,I have got one of the last UK registered
Supers,and I am pleased to say I have had lots of positive comments
about the car,and of course it was substantially cheaper than a
facelift,unless you are extremely quick off the mark and buy one
of the bargain priced ones that appear ,they are normally snapped
up by the trade.
My theory is this: the two main indies. that sell 166s' seem to be controlling market prices for facelifts by snapping up everyone
they see(with rare exceptions) and then manipulating these
artificially high prices.
There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding the facelift,I think
the real price is the £9-10k. asked by private buyers,I cannot see
these facelifts being worth £5k. more than the last of the 53 reg.
It is perplexing when you think Alfa could hardly give away the
facelift in 2004,and now it is rising in value?
