As for tread depth, when I bought my car the rear tyres were around the legal limit it was awful in the wet.
For my wheel size I couldn't get T1s less than about 95 IIRC! My F1s were 83 each. Fitted.

Supposed to be an American firm linked with Avon, the brand I was told the tyre was.
Anyway pleased to report it has transformed the road noise levels.
I'm impressed, really made a difference and a good price too.

I had Cooper Cobras a few years back on my 155 - far too hard, nice & lairy

After the fronts had been killed by track rod end failure (the infamous saga for quick-rack v6's ) the garage put BFGoodrich tyres on the front & the grip from them was good, and balanced the lairy backend with the v6 uundersteer to give a great balance - pure luck, and even more fun

I was also told that Cooper was Avon's budget brand.

I am still really happy with my Michelin Pilot Sport 2's - wearing well, a little sensitive to tyre pressures on the front tho'

Waiting for an Alfa version of a Maserati Quattroporte

Re: Alternative to Goodyear Eagles??

Annoyingly, having just forked out for two tyres on the GTV I'm now going to have to buy two tyres for Sue's landrover I've just ordered two Goodyear Wranglers which I'm getting fitted at 3pm...
