Re: 164 Super V6 3.0 24V Hesitation after Expensive Service
The knocking noise was never there before, its the sound that you usually get on carburetted engines when you're going up a hill at high gear (Under Power).
Guess what I took off the plug from the MAF sensor whilst the engine was running and the engine turned off. I replugged the wire and when I started up the car was back to normal, Idling fine, going over sleeping policemen (humps on the road) at 5th gear and going up hills at low speed but still kicking without even a cough. I was glad that everything was back to normal.
Then.. I went for a spin with a grin on my face when I came back my mum wanted a lift to a local chemist so I drove her there. I turned off the engine, waited for about 5 mins and when I started up again, it started to play again, the idling was playing and it was underpowered again. I got ****ed so I remembered someone saying that to clear the error codes you have to disconnect the battery for 45mins and do 90secs with IGN on and 90secs with it OFF and start it without touching the pedal.
I did just that but the engine was still playing not as bad as before but still a little underpowered. I unplugged the sensor again and went for a spin. The car is ok again. I turned the car off and waited for 15mins and started it up and the car was still ok .... wtf ?? (Pardon my french) what is the problem ?? Its running fine now could it be that my mother's 48Kg were upsetting the learn routine or was it just playing tricks ? I have no Idea but I know that for now I'm only driving it alone at least for a few days.
If the MAF sensor is acting up, do you know how I can clean it, there are many threads but I can't find them now that I need them. Or could it just be Bad Luck ?
Thanks for all the help anyone who'd care to share any ideas is welcome, Please !!
