Re: Rear fog lamps and boot lighting problems
Sounds to me like you have a problem with the wiring harness. Bit sus that you have a problem with 2 things both on the boot lid. Could be that some of the cores have broken where the harness passes through the flexible rubber connection between the car body and the boot lid.
AFAIK all the lights should illuminated on the dash irrespective of whether the doors/boot lid are open or not, it is to let the driver know that all the dash warning lights are OK, if one of the warning lamps is not lighting up when you put the key in the ignition it means that that lamp has blown. You may find that whatever has caused this lamp to blow could be the cause of your other problems. I do not think that the warning lamp will be the cause of the problem tho.
The fact that your fog lamps dont work would cause me to check the harness in the flexible connection, or it could be a problem with a shared earth.
