166 2.5V6 Cambelts
Just part exchanged my 2000 V6 for a 2002
V6 with much lower miles 67.000 and put it in my local specialist to have the cambelts done, and came back running awful. Revs flattened out 3-4000 and no go - sometimes, put it back in and they spent half a day re-adjusting the timing. it now accelerates fine but I get whines from the belts on deceleration and it is noisier than before belts were done - so they are getting it back again - its very frustrating when you spend the dosh to get a job done properly.
They maintained my old 2.5V6 for 2 years and it was fine, just rather worried as the new car sounds much worse than when I bought it. and the whine is awful.-the old one never had this whine at all even at 100.000 miles, they actually commented that the engine was very different from the earlier model 166 I had, but the car did not have this whine before tha belts were done?
Oh bye the way on the old one the suspension was squeeking and it was rolling more in corners, I had the upper front suspension bushes done - and it drove like a new car very positive steering and cornering. it is well worth having done on high mileage cars, I had it done at 96,000
