166 3.0 Super - Disappearing water!
I've had my '01 Super for about a year and in all that time I haven't fixed the only 2 noticeable faults (I'm ignoring the usual non-cancelling indicators and "wack-to-open" dashboard compartment as just model features). These faults are a slightly warped front disc (can anyone recommend an aftermarket drilled/grooved brand for this model?), and more importantly a water leak.
I have to top up the expansion tank every few days of moderate use, and when parking up the car with a hot engine I can hear a water drip hissing on something hot. This noise is coming from "under" the engine covers rather than from the front of the car, near the rad and pipework. Anyone know if there's some pipework that might be leaking around there? Alternatively, I get a bit of vapour from the exhaust, so it could be leaking into a cylinder.....
Other than that it's the most reliable Alfa (touch wood) I've ever had. Torque steer is a bit severe though!
