1992 164L

Drunk tires size and options

I have a 92 164l and currently have 205/60/15 tires on there the car came with 195/65/15 is there really any difference in the two and if so which would be better????

The car originally came with 195's, so if you merely replace with 205's you increase the diameter and, of course, the circumference.

All the instrumentation relating to travel (i.e. road speed, miles travelled, fuel economy etc.) will give you an incorrect reading and the gearbox will have to work harder (ratios were developed around the specified tyre size and although you probably wouldn't notice in first/second, the top gear response will suffer...).

I don't know how it might affect handling.
