Complicated ICS problem
Right, The climate system on my 166 is playing up. A couple of minutes after start a warning screen will appear on my ICS screes prompting: Warning, Air Con fault, Please visit workshop.
At first I didn take much notice but then i realized that whenever the warning screen appears the system will ONLY blow cold air, even if you sent the temp to 28 degrees. This can be a bit dangerous in the winter as its a bit hard to demist the windscreen with cold air. But when you turn the ignition off and on again it will work perfect until the warning logo comes on again, which is always couple mins after start.
My local garage said i need a new ICS unit as they cant find any faults with the wiring or filters etc...
Located an ICS but with no code and picked it up for £275.
Here's the question. Is it possible to remove the aircon bit from my ICS (or which ever bit that controls the climate system) and swap it with the ICS I just bought.
And has anyone ever removed an ICS unit before? If so please please let me know.
