Re: Advice on an alfa 166
Has the car been off the roads for a while or had the battery disconnected/flat?
When I first drove my 166 after a long layoff I found it to be down on power, especially on initial response to the throttle. However after a few days things got better. I can only assume it got better because the ECU sorted its brain out and learned my driving habits.
I always thought this ECU 'learning' was folklore but I've been told by people in the know that it's true.
MAF symptoms tend to show up at higher RPM - at least mine did. I got a flat spot at 4500 RPM and the engine was reluctant to pull above that.
