166 Climate Control ECU Replacement
I am convinced that the problem my climate control has is that the ECU is faulty. The more i think about it, the more it makes sense. The symptoms are consistent with the ECU cutting out as before the system failed completely, after turning on, I could hear the fans starting before being shut off after a few seconds (by the EUC I'm assuming as the motor that drives the fans has its voltage supplied by the ECU). This is consistent with what I got out of my local Alfa dealer. Does anyone out there know whether there is a simple way to check the voltage going to the fan motor? I don't want to go through the four hour process of getting down to the motor itself unless I am going to remove it.
With all this in mind, does anyone have a workshop CD-ROM with details of replacing this part or know of the process for removing and replacing this item? Know it'll mean an ICS out job. I have been given a part number by nailmoran and am hoping to get clarification of this from the dealer as I cant aford to pay out the £1k plus a new one (allegedly) costs from a dealer and would like to chase one through other sources.
Apologies for posting on several threads on this Climate Control matter but I'm sure you'll agree having aircon (or atleast some fans to blow air around the cabin!) is very important for summer!!
