It was great fun. After 10 hours of driving (average speed 142 km/h between Calais and Sopron) I got out of the car more relaxed than I got in. Everybody who was sitting in the car loved it. People in the car valeting stayed until 11 pm on Friday, so they can properly clean such a nice car! I got free coffee because i was driving an Alfa 166!
Greatest features: Engine, body, interior, electronics (e. g. aircon, audio, cruise control).
Things I really missed while driving: steering wheel controls for the audio, more forgiving suspension over the Irish potholes.
We (my better half and I) decided to do it again next year, instead of flying over and renting a car.
All my ferry/channel crossings and hotels were booked via www.drive-alive.co.uk
, and they had excellent prices and everything was perfect.
