Re: LPG Conversion
I had a Prins system fitted recently for £1700. It works great, with no noticeable loss of performance. However, I'm currently investigating whether I have a problem as my car only does an average of 180 miles on 55 litres of lpg, which costs around £25. If I put £25 of petrol in, I average around 150 miles. On these figures I'm hardly saving anything, certainly not the savings I expected anyway!
LPG is half the price of petrol, and you get approx 80% of the mpg as you would on petrol. So 25mpg on petrol becomes 20mpg on lpg. Therefore, with 55 litres being roughly 12 gallons I should be expecting to get 240 miles on a tank of lpg shouldn't I?
Incidentally, my tank is in spare wheel well so no loss of boot space.
