oil cap query
I was looking at a 166 2.0ts over the weekend, body in good condition, no diesel-ing on startup, idled fine (didn't get a test drive). The car has been laid up for a while - rusty brake discs etc. I'm thinking about giving it a more thorough going over, but one thing bothers me, the oil cap has some off white goo on it - not quite cream, but not greasy black either. The seller tried to gloss over it saying that the real test would be creamy oil on the stick and oil cap mayonaise would be normal for a car kept outdoors and not moved in a month or so. Is he bull****ting?
