164 Clutch Release Bearing

Hi there,

I just replaced the clutch on my 164 3 litre 24 valve and I read up on how to use the starter method to lever across the thrust bearing into place but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.

As I lever over the arm I can occassionally here a click and the lever is tight but it stills too far away from the clutch cylinder and when I think I have got it into place and then try the clutch it goes straight to floor and just pops the piston and the clutch lever arm does not feel secure or locked anymore.

Any alternative methods, ideas etc would be most welcome
