Alfa 164 T Spark Lusso 1992 J plate
I recently purchased my second Alfa 164, my first a H reg which I eventually sold a few years ago for peanuts, and now this one, a 1992 T Spark.
I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the variable valve timing control solenoid on the left side of the cylinder head on the inlet camshaft behind the distributor.
My alfa is very sluggish and I have discovered that either the wires to the solenoid were either off, or they came off when I pulled the rubber cover from them. They were very loose fitting and I had to crimp them back on, but once refitted the car ran no differently to when they were off, which is what is making me think that the solenoid is at fault.
