Help CD Changer Test? (Berkshire)

Hi everyone.

I've got a non-working CD changer in my 1999 166 3.0 V6. When I select a CD from the ICS, there is a clunking noise from the CD changer as it inserts the CD, but then no sound. A short while later, it switches back to radio. I suspect it is the unit itself that is not working, rather than an ICS fault.

I was wondering if there's anyone in the area-ish who wouldn't mind trying my changer on their ICS or vice-versa? I'd be very appreciative!

Any other suggestions welcome!

What make is your head unit? I have a Sony head unit sitting around which might drive your changer.
I'm in West Berks.

Alfa 166 doesn't have a head unit as such a built in ICS screen controls everything

Now solved. I removed the head unit, pulled off the damaged door and removed bit of plastic from mechanism and all is fine.

I guess it won't hurt not having a door on the unit?

Wouldn't have thought so Rich, maybe dust getting in. Perhaps find a way to cover it just for that reason.
