Madness Sat Nav Box / Antenna

Being a fat fingered idiot I managed to snap the antenna wire to the G3 Siemens box in the car while taking it out at the weekend and rendering it pretty useless.

I've not got 1300 for a new one and they come up on ebay once in a blue moon, therefore I'm guessing that the only option is to try and hard wire a new antenna onto the PCB board.

Can anyone recommend the actual/best antenna that I should use or suggest an alternative.

I was given a pretty disappointing appraisal by a bloke in an audio shop in Leyton on Saturday - i.e. It'll never work again, but am hoping that someone on here might have encountered the same problem once in the past?

Re: Sat Nav Box / Antenna

i'm sure you'll be able to repair it....pretty much any generic aerial will do or you could just solder on the original cable as there's a join a wee bit further up.
