Guys - if anyone can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated!
I am at the end of my tether with the central locking on my 166 TS. There are two main issues:
1) The central locking is highly tempramental - sometimes it will lock straight away, sometimes it won't. Mostly it's the latter
2) Even if it DOES lock, it will randomly unlock itself
I've even taken to manually pushing down the door pins and finally locking the driver's door with the key so as not to trigger the central from the key fob (and hence the alarm), but even that has now failed.
So, I tried to sort it out the other day by checking all the locks (took some time, I can tell you) and eventually disconnecting the nearside rear one because it was cycling. This seemed to sort it out, with the locking working perfectly.... for ten minutes. Now it's back to its old ways.
I know the obvious thing is to take it to a specialist, or even a stealer, but at this rate it's going to get stolen or vandalised before I have the chance. Just this morning I came down to find it was merrily sitting there completely unlocked - unpopular though the 166 is, someone's going to take the opporunity soon.
Please guys, if anyone knows why this might happen commonly I would be eternally grateful, and failing that how do I disconnect the central locking unit altogether?
