CV joint and ABS question

Hi All,

I've just bagged myself a "bargain" Ebay CV joint for my 164 but when it arrived, the toothed ring round the outside that gives the ABS pulse is noticeably coarser and has fewer teeth than the ones on the car.

Before I send it back, (will cost more to post than it did to buy!) does anyone know if this is likely to be a problem? Does the ABS system on a 1990 car only need to know that the wheels are turning (or are not turning) OR will it put on its warning light when it thinks that one wheel is turning a lot slower than the other three?

Re: CV joint and ABS question

If the number of teeth are different it definitely won't work the sensor counts the teeth to work out the wheel speed it will think which ever wheel you fit this to is turning far slower than the others
