166 with dead battery and boot won't open!
This is a strange one!
To keep a long story short, I was given a company car, and decided to sell my wife's 146 and keep my 166 for her to drive. It wasn't long before she tormented me to get her another car as she thinks the 166 is too big. So, I bought her a Saab 93 and all was well for a few months. I was too busy to get anything done at home, so the 166 lied up (shame on me, I know). However, I went to prepare it for sale (:-() over the weekend, and it's dead as can be. No ICS activity and dim dash lighting, no headlamps work and alarm is dead. I decided the battery had drained, so went to pop the boot and no joy as power is required. So, I got the key to stick in the keyhole only to discover that since I had the full Alfa body kit fitted which includes a subtle boot spoiler, it prevents the Alfa badge from rotating enough to expose the keyhole! So, I tried reaching through the ski-flap but you would need to be something other than human to have arms long enough to reach the battery or the boot locking mechanism. So, I'm in a delema and there seems to be no easy fix, that I can think of anyway. Any clever members out there got any suggestions? Thanks all, David, Ireland.
